I don t recommend adding holes in a roof even if you will be sealing and coating over them. I hope it helps. Some have roof rumbles some have sidings that pop when they expand from the sun heating them up. Use rumble buttons only when all else has failed.

They are noises that after a while you won t even hear. The tar will damp the vibrations and will adhere the tires in place. The rumble button is designed with materials to help eliminate roof rumble and prevent water leaks when properly installed. Galvanized 1 1 8 washer has per drilled center hole for screw not included.

Tar on the roof and toss the tires on while it is still sticky. You must nail to a rafter and then seal the area with a special caulk. Putting holes in a mobile home roof is never good. Robustly and durably these rumble buttons are made to last.

There are screws you can use called rumble buttons but they create holes in your roof and that s never a good idea. The rumble buttons will do the job you can get em at lowe s or home depot as metal roof washers but they ll require a lot of work and of course depends on there being good wood under the roof. They used to use rumble screws to reduce the noise but since you were putting holes in the roof it soon became a situation where you were trading one problem for a bigger one. Ensure you have them for your next project.

Over time cracks may appear where buttons have been installed. Sealing and coating is the best way to fix roof rumble. No rumble buttons please.
