Red rosin paper is a high quality single ply sheathing paper which is widely used in built up roofing systems as a first layer protective barrier.

I ve always preffered to install felt paper on top of subfloor in my remodels prior to installing underlayment so if spills leaks whatever happen it will stop or slow process so rotting.
